Dr. Donald A. Grace
r. Grace passed away on January 6, 2016, days shy of his 81st birthday.
He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Shirley, and his children Sandra
(David), Cameron (Janis), Susan (Chris), and David (Kim), as well as many

grandchildren.
Dr. Grace obtained his medical degree from the University of Alberta, interned at
Calgary General, and completed his fellowship in urology residency at Johns Hopkins
and Ohio State University Hospitals. He practiced in Calgary until 1992 and at vari-
ous points in his career held the positions of Assistant Professor of Urology at the
University of Calgary, Chief of the Urology Division at Foothills and Rocky View
Hospitals, and President of the Calgary Medical Society. In 1992, he moved to the
Saanich Peninsula Hospital, where he worked until his retirement in 2013.
Dr. Grace positively impacted many lives and will be greatly missed by all who
knew him.

Dr. Lawrence W. Mix
r. Mix passed away on October 2, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 52
years, Elinor, his two sons Kendall (Debbie) and Geoff, and his grandchildren.

In 1968, Dr. Mix obtained his medical degree from the University of Alberta,
where he also completed a urology residency. He studied pediatric urology at the Alder
Hey Pediatric Hospital in Liverpool, England and returned to Edmonton to practice
at the Charles Camsell Hospital, Royal Alexandra Hospital, Glenrose Rehabilitation
Hospital, and the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
